Sholom Home “Adopt a Neighborhood” Program
A brand new committee was formed in early September 2011 to provide Beth Jacob congregants with a wonderful opportunity to develop relationships with the residents of the Shaller campus (Shalom Home East) by “adopting” a “neighborhood” on the campus.
Each neighborhood has 10 or fewer residents. Volunteers will participate in activities at Sholom Home that interest them, such as: dining together on Shabbat, celebrating holidays together, lighting Shabbat candles on a regular basis, reading to the residents, craft projects, baking together, singing together, and the like.
Experience has shown that similar programs enhance the lives of both the residents and the volunteers and we sincerely hope that you will consider being one of the volunteers for this exciting new program. Please contact Lorraine Herta or Yelva Lynfield for more information.
