7th Grade Lifecycle Workshops
So Now I’m a Jewish Adult
Shalom 7th Grade Students and families,
Seventh Grade – a year of Simcha! Mazal Tov! This is a time of rejoicing with family, friends and community! A moment of celebration signaling when our young people come of age as young adult members of the Jewish community and in particular, our Beth Jacob community!
Beth Jacob’s Life Cycle Workshops further fuse together this moment of learning accomplishment with a deeper sense of connection to others who are celebrating and to the richness of our Jewish tradition of coming into young adulthood. Even if you have already celebrated your simcha, as a member of our 7th grade community, we count on your participation in these workshops!
This year, we have created a special aspect of our learning. Based around the major moments in the Jewish Life Cycle, we will not only learn the associated rituals with the Birth Ceremonies, B’nai Mitzvah, Marriage and Death, but we will also seek to especially understand the values of celebration and observance through the meals associated with these Life Cycle celebrations.
Again, as part of our Beth Jacob community, these learning opportunities are integral to making the experience of Bar and Bat Mitzvah a truly enriched and unique Jewish ritual experience.
We look forward to learning and celebrating together!
L’Shalom,
