Shabbat Enrichment
Shabbat Enrichment is our Shabbat morning learning program for children Pre-K through 8th grade. The curriculum seeks, at its core, to build upon and enhance a sense of community and Shabbat among our children and youth. Classes are by grade and include, but are not limited to, instruction in Parasha Hashavua, Holidays, trope and current events.
Our eighth grade students are part of a special class called Shalshelet which begins training them to become Teaching Assistants, a program in which many of Beth Jacob’s teenage students in 9th through 12th grade serve.
Each week students join together in combined grade groupings for Shabbat davening. At the close of Shabbat services the entire youth community and the teachers join the adults in the main sanctuary to conclude the Shabbat davening together.
