In early 2018, over 270 Beth Jacob congregants took part in a congregational survey and expressed their opinions on a wide range of topics affecting the shul. In addition to answering four groups of multiple-choice questions, they offered nearly 1,100 comments on subjects ranging from their reasons for joining Beth Jacob to their feelings about the congregation’s values, practices and programs and about rabbinic functions that are important to them.
Survey Report
Following the survey, many members of the Beth Jacob community participated in Congregational Conversations, aimed at, to quote one survey respondent, moving beyond just rating “which of these things are important to us in a static way,” but “toward talking together about why they’re important and how we understand what Beth Jacob is.”
