The Rabbi will:

  • Meet with each family at the beginning of B’nai Mitzvah training  and communicate with the tutors regarding each student’s goals
  • Get monthly updates from the tutors on students’ progress
  • Meet with students weekly, starting 8 weeks before their B’nai Mitzvah dates as students prepare their D’var Torah
  • Work individually with each family in preparation for the B’nai Mitzvah

The Rabbi’s role is to help students understand what it means to become a B’nai Mitzvah on a personal and communal level, teach mitzvot of Tallit & T’fillin, explain the student’s new role as an adult in the community, and explain expectations of the student in the shul and community.
