The Climate Committee is excited to present our 2-part Climate Film Series. Each time, we’ll start with a special Patagonia Films trailer, and then watch our Feature Film.
Our August film is David Attenborough’s: A Life on Our Planet: This 2020 film shows, and explains first-hand, the monumental scale of humanity’s impact on nature while making a plea about what humans can do to slow down climate change while charting a new sustainable direction. Come see for yourself as we watch together this moving and breathtaking film along with popcorn and drinks, and discussion afterwards.

Scientists in Synagogues: Making Engineering Storytelling Devices (Automata)
Sept. 14 – Sept. 15, 2024
Join us as we explore engineering and design, storytelling and art with an exciting D’var Torah on Shabbat morning September 14th and a fun hands-on workshop for builders and makers of all ages on Sunday September 15th at 10:00 am.
The Sunday workshop will engage participants of all ages (some with adult help) in engineering, Jewish stories, and art. The engineering activity will be centered around the creation of an automaton to show a scene from a story. For hundreds of years, people have designed and created mechanical machines called automata that move and mimic humans, animals, and plants. Wheels, levers, and linkages work in tandem to create singing birds, bicyclers, and even wing-flapping ducks. Join us to create your own mechanical marvel based on a Jewish story.
Registration required for the Sept. 15th event, please use the link below to register. Doors will be open until 10:15 am to enter the event.
