Tuesdays: 2:30 – 3:30 pm
When the Shaller campus (Shalom Home East) asked Twin Cities Jewish congregations to “Adopt a Neighborhood” on the campus, Beth Jacob answered the call. In September 2011 we adopted the long-term residents on the third floor. Joan Farber, Lorraine Hertz, and Yelva Lynfield have been putting on a varied program for them weekly.
One of the highlights was a dance program by Nancy Karasov and her daughter, Bonnie Milavetz. Another highlight was a magic show put on by Ben Goffman.
Every Tuesday afternoon we lead music, exercises, games, and stories. We are happy to see the residents participate and socialize!
We are helped by staff members and other volunteers. Volunteers will participate in activities at Sholom Home that interest them, such as: reading to the residents, craft projects, baking together, singing together and the like. We hope that more Beth Jacob members can join us any Tuesday from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.
